About MOJA

journey towards faith, learning, and service

mission statement

Mt. Olivet SDA Junior Academy (MOJA) is committed to delivering a God-centered, results-oriented education, in an environment that inspires students to be innovative global citizens and independent problem solvers.

It is the vision of MOJA to be a leader in STEM education by providing opportunities for students to become spiritually grounded, academically successful, socially aware, and physically ready to learn today and lead tomorrow.

Performance standards cover all aspects of the curriculum for given subjects and grade levels. MOJA teachers work to achieve this mission by developing in students:
  • Acceptance of God
  • Commitment to the church
  • Interpersonal relationships
  • Responsible citizenship
  • Healthy, balanced living
  • Intellectual growth
  • Communication skills
  • Personal management
  • Aesthetic appreciation
  • Christian work ethic for career and service
When these changes are implemented, students are prepared to be productive, Christ-like citizens in this world and in heaven, the ultimate goal of MOJA and Adventist EDGE.

Mt. Olivet SDA Junior Academy was started in 1936 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leon J. Carroll Sr. from Dania, Florida. At that time, the school consisted of one teacher and a few students, many of whom eagerly traveled by foot from Ft. Lauderdale to Dania to learn. The school’s enrollment increased and soon was relocated to Ft. Lauderdale under the leadership of Elder S. C. Miles. With guidance and grace from God, the school has nurtured students for more than 80 years.
